Q: The CD loads and plays fine and the PowerPoint looks and works great on my Windows 7 and Office 2007 system, but I’m not able to get the VOR, ADF, HSI practice or the ADDS Weather JAVA scripts to operate using the hyper links that are in the slide shows.

A: Some of the new operating systems are 64 bit instead of 32 bit. To correct the problem you should down load and install both the 32 and 64 bit versions of  JAVA (Sun Microsystems). Here is the direct link for those down loads: http://java.com/en/download/faq/java_win64bit.xml

Q:  Can I use this program to create my own on line course?
A: No. Using the CFI Toolbox and or Gleim material to create an online course would be a serious violation of copyright law.

Q:  Can I modify the existing PVT and INST presentations?
A: Yes. The material on the cd is read only and closed so it cannot be changed. However it can be sent to “my documents” If you then change the name of each PowerPoint icon it can be modified and saved under the new name. Note that the hyper links may be displaced and may have to be re-installed. The “extra visuals” may be copied and pasted, or individual pictures copied and pasted into what ever PowerPoint order you choose. For assistance call our customer service number.

Q: I’m very interested in your product but would like to teach beyond the FAA knowledge test. Does your CD contain such a presentation?
A:  Our product consists of two CD’s. The first is a complete FAA knowledge test presentation with more than enough illustrations to prepare students for their FAA written exam, but it is not designed to be a comprehensive flight training program. For that reason we include a second CD with hundreds of PowerPoint slides from the FAA Pilots Handbook of Aeronautical knowledge, the Airplane Flying Handbook, and Instrument Flying Handbook, from which you can create by copying and pasting your own full and comprehensive general ground school that will fit your own personal needs.

Q:  Will this material play on Office 2007?
A:  Yes it will. We have tested it on PP 2000, 2003, and 2007. 2003 and 2007 works best.

Q:  Can I use this on my Mac?
A: If your Mac is able to use Microsoft Office or PowerPoint it should play.

Q: Can I play this material on the free Sun Microsystems PowerPoint reader?
A: It will play but we have seen some displacement of text and images. If you do not have PowerPoint we suggest you purchase the Microsoft home and school or other edition of PP or Office.

Q: I’m a bit concerned about how to start a class type ground school. Where can I get info that will help me get started?
A: Call us. We have done weekly, weekend, and one on one for some time and look forward to sharing our experience to help you decide.

Q: Does the cd include both Private and Instrument course?
A:  Yes it does. The cd is available with the Gleim PVT test guide only or with both the Gleim PVT and INST test guides.

Q: We are an FBO with more than one CFI. Does each CFI have to purchase a CD?
A: No. If an FBO or school purchases a ground school kit it can be used by any number of CFI’s at that facility. If a CFI purchases a kit for his use only at an FBO he can authorize its use by others at that facility but upon his leaving takes the kit with him.

Q: How are updates provided?
A: You should go to our web site to view our update policy. Updates are actually a brand new full CD and are available only to previous purchasers for the discounted price shown on the web site. Updates are done on an annual basis. Our current CD is new as of 9-1-2009.

Q: Where do the test questions come from?
A: All test questions are taken from the FAA test bank.
